Trash the Dress Photography

Trash the Dress Photography is a style of wedding Photography which combines the elegance of a wedding gown with the outdoor environment which is usually very unorthodox, varies from city streets, garbage dumps, fields, abandoned buildings, the beach and railroad tracks.

It may also be done as an additional shoot after the wedding, almost as a declaration that the wedding is done and the dress will not be used again. In most circumstances the dress gets only get wet or dirty but in rare cases it gets completely destroyed.

A professional cleaning service should restore the dress to brand-new quality, enabling the wearer to then preserve and/or keep the dress, or to donate it to charity, if it's not destroyed. It is however worth doing such a session, not only for the enjoyment of it, but also for the great and different portraits that come at the end.

Trash the Dress Photos would be best in the later afternoon to get the sunset or the very early morning to get the sunrise. As far as props for such photographs a bouquet would be your best bet and could get one at a grocery store (beautiful flowers for a reasonable price!) or farmer's market.

Most brides have done their own make up to keep the cost low, but this is a personal preference. Always bring a towel or robe if any underwater photos are to be done. Another idea would be to get another wedding dress, a less expensive one, if you don't want to destroy the original dress.
