Funnest and coldest wedding and engagement winter photos in Chicago

Chicago Wedding Engagement Photographer Gia Photos

Although winter is not the ideal time for wedding and engagement photos for some couples, I had the luck of getting some wonderful people who not only wanted a winter wonderland look, but also got it. Weather actually worked in their favor. These are just some of my favorite photos and I’d like to thank all the couples for putting up with the cold for these unique photos.

Bridal Expo 2017 at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont

Glad to have been part of this year’s Bridal Expo 2017 at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont. It was wonderful meeting future brides and clients I’ve previously worked with. Next to me I had help from my Drone Pilot, Vlad, who did an amazing job explaining the way drones work to future brides. This Expo was a well planned, well organized and easily accessible show. Thank you to all that have helped me with it. Look forward to the next one.

Larissa and Rick’s very romantic wedding at Chevy Chase Country Club, Wheeling Illinois

When Rick and Larissa mentioned that their wedding would be at Chevy Chase Country Club, I was excited. I know from the start that it would be not only a very beautiful wedding, but also very romantic. Of course, having a wedding party that will do anything the bride says, is very helpful. Although we’ve photographed outside, on the golf course, after the ceremony, they wanted some nighttime wedding photography, and they brought sparklers, which ended up being a lot of fun. And the photos turned up great. I wish them the best in everything.

Great Bridal Expo at Stan Mansion, Chicago Illinois

On Jan. 16, 2016 I had the pleasure of taking part in one of the most elegant and well organized Bridal Expos at Stan Mansion in Chicago. As large as it was, it had great intimacy and even better connection between vendor and future bride and groom. Vendors that took place at this wonderful event were Art of Imagination for event design, fabric and lighting. Delicious food by D’Absolute Events & Catering, Cocina Fusion, Ovy Signature Catering, Beyond Events Chicago, Ani and Arami. Flowers decor and flower demonstration by Juliet Tan Floral Design. Table scapes by Tablescapes Event Rentals. Sweets by Oak Mill Bakery and Bombon Cake Gallery. Photo and video by Rudy Valentino Photo + Cinema and Gia Dragoi Photography. Stand and Clap DJ,. Rose Wedding Ceremonies. The Left Bank Jewelry & Bridal Finery. Wedding gowns by Dimitra’s Bridal Chicago. Custom designed letterpress invitations and stationery by Lucky Invitations, Northern Decor custom decor, Photo-booth and more. Everyone was incredibly professional and courteous as well as friendly and welcoming. I look forward to being invited to the next Bridal Expo hosted by the great Stan Mansion in Chicago.

Emmanuel and Vanessa’s surprise engagement in Chicago, Illinois

Emmanuel and Vanessa’s surprise proposal was my very first truly traditional Mexican proposal, mariachi and all. It was wonderful. She had no idea what he was planning. Nervous as he was, he walked up to her house with a band of mariachi behind him and got down on one knee. She wasn’t expecting it at all, and having the opportunity to be there, to capture her facial expression was great. I wish them only the best.

Cameron and Elisabeth’s surprise engagement photo shoot at Navy Pier, Chicago Illinois

Cameron and Elisabeth’s surprise engagement photos were nothing if not utterly exciting. From having to change locations due to very heavy rain and thunderstorms, to finding just the right location in the last minute and a future fiancee-to-be who was running out of patience, I had my work cut out for me. But in the end, the moment was truly a surprise for her and the rain slowed down a bit, just enough to propose and enjoy the Navy Pier fireworks. I wish them the best in their marriage.

Georgiana and Dacian’s wedding was exquisite. Beginning with her very beautifully detailed, laced wedding dress to the flowers and reception hall set up. It was all done with the outmost style and elegance. Well combined colors for the hall and great food. Live music and party people make for a very fun wedding. Brighan and Sam’s unique engagement photo session in Lincoln Park, Chicago Illinois

This beautiful couple wanted to have their engagement photos to have foliage as much as the city, so we decided on Alfred Caldwell Lilly Pool and downtown Chicago. After a very rainy day, we had the craziest luck and had the only 2 great weather hours for the day. So after we finished the the Lilly pool, we decided to stop by the Nature Museum where the nicest fog happened. And for someone who likes fog, I was very exited of the photos we came to take. Downtown Chicago is beautiful no matter what, so we spent about an hour there. I wish Brighan and Sam the best of everything in their marriage.

For Araceli and Fred’s beautiful spring engagement photo session we decided to really show Chicago. So we went to Buckingham Fountain, North Avenue Beach (which happens to be one of my favorite spots) and Millennium Park. Luckily for us, we caught great weather and just the perfect amount of sun. It’s easy to have fun during work and you photograph such a wonderful couple. They are just great and I wish them only the best in their marriage.
