Because of the freezing Chicago winter, we split Maria and Robert's wedding photos between the church interior and Concorde Banquets in Kildeer—and honestly, it worked out perfectly. Staying inside kept everyone warm and relaxed, and both spaces offered amazing backdrops. We used the rich, ornate architecture of the church for some elegant, dramatic shots, and then utilized the beautiful indoor spaces at Concorde to get those fun, clean group photos and timeless portraits of the two of them without anyone having to brace the January wind.

The ceremony for Maria and Robert at Saints Constantine and Helen Romanian Orthodox Church was incredible to witness and photograph. The church’s traditional architecture and beautiful, ornate interior immediately set a majestic and sacred tone for the day, offering a stunning contrast to the freezing January weather outside. Photographing the rich, time-honored traditions of the Romanian Orthodox liturgy against the backdrop of the vibrant iconography allowed for some truly powerful visual storytelling. The soft, ambient light inside the sanctuary perfectly illuminated the couple during the service, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that made the cold Chicago winter feel a million miles away.

The reception at Concorde Banquets was the perfect way to wrap up Maria and Robert's winter wedding day. Because of the cold weather outside, the grand ballroom was an incredibly warm, inviting space for everyone to finally kick back and celebrate. The elegant chandeliers and classic decor gave the room a great, polished look, and the massive dance floor was packed from the moment the music started. Capturing all that energy—from the formal introductions to the completely packed dance floor—was a blast. It had that quintessential, high-energy Chicago reception vibe where the party just never stops, making you completely forget about the freezing January weather outside.
